ABOUT MY JOURNEY
Kenny Czarnecki
Founder/Chief Pilot/COO/DPE/ATP/CFI/CFII
My aviation story began in 1980 with my first flight near Meadville, PA at night in a V-tailed Beechcraft Baron. From lift-off, I knew I’d have a lifetime passion flying just about anything that I could get my hands on; I was completely hooked.
I joined the US Navy in 1983 and became a Sensor Operator/Rescue Swimmer in SH-60B SeaHawks. In 1989 did an Inter-Service transfer to the Army and went to Fort Rucker for flight school and my military service had me flying all over the world.
I retired from active military service in 2005, but I have kept on flying Hawks for the last 16 years as a civilian.
Along my 37-year career I have has the privilege of flying with some great people that have also helped me along my aviation path.
I became an FAA National – Designated Pilot Examiner (N-DPE) – Rotary Wing, to be a part of the growth of the H-60 in the civilian aviation industry.
I currently hold the following FAA Designations and Certifications:
- FAA National – Designated Pilot Examiner – Rotorcraft
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot – Rotorcraft – Instrument
- FAA Commercial – Multi-Engine & Single Engine Land – Instrument
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor – Airplane/Helicopter
- FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor
- FAA Certified Instrument Instructor – Rotorcraft
- FAA Night Vision Goggle Instructor/Pilot in Command
- FAA Advanced Ground Instructor
- FAA Remote Pilot Certified
- FAA Class II Medical (Current)
- Army Safety Officer (OSHA Qualified)
- EASA/CAA Reciprocal Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)
But my passion for the last 37 years has been the BlackHawk and the worldwide variants and those that fly these wonderful machines.
I have amassed over 6,500 hours in various airframes and believe them to be one of the finest flying machines available for the serious helicopter pilot and utility helicopter mission.
Now, I have flown in just about every imaginable environment. Whether it was providing initial/recurrent training in the H-60, giving a check ride to someone moving up in credentialing, or giving check rides to US Army and US Coast Guard pilots all over the USA.
My other passion is taking my wife and family flying for the first time, I simply love flying.
My wife (Lori) and I have been married for more than 30 years; we have 3 grown children. We have lived in Arab, Alabama since I retired.
